FAQ
Questions that are asked frequently.
How much does the burn-redeem app cost to use?
Nothing! Burn-Redeem Apps are free to use for all creators, just pay gas to publish the redeem page and register the extension on your contract.
Collectors are charged .00069 ETH per edition minted via the Burn-Redeem App for single-token burns, and .00099 ETH per edition minted for multi-token burns.
Can I update my redeem token artwork/metadata after I’ve already published my burn-redeem?
Yep. Go to the “Configure Redeem Asset” tab of your existing burn-redeem, and update the asset and metadata accordingly. Then click the ‘Update’ button on the Preview and Publish tab and you’re good to go!
Can I update the parameters of my redemption after I’ve already published it?
It depends on what you want to update! You can update the following parameters:
Start and End Dates
Max Supply
Redeem Token Asset/Metadata
Redemption Page Title and Description
Required burn amount
Burnable token
You cannot update the URL slug of the Burn Redeem Page, or the contract/tokenID of the redeem token.
What NFTs can I select as a burnable token?
For ERC-1155 burnable tokens, you can select any Ethereum Mainnet ERC-1155 token.
For ERC-721s, eligible burnable tokens are configured via choosing one of three options:
Any tokens on an existing ERC-721 contract
Any tokens within a specified tokenID range on an existing ERC-721 contract
A set of specific tokenIDs on an existing ERC-721 contract
Can I change which burnable token I want to use after publishing a Burn-Redeem Page?
Yep! You can change the burnable token and amount at any point.
How do I set royalties for my redeem token?
You can make sure your on-chain and Opensea royalties are set for the redeem token’s contract in the Settings tab. If you’re creating a new contract for your redeem token, make sure to set royalties both on-chain in Manifold Studio and separately on your Opensea collection.
Can I airdrop redeem tokens to myself or others before publishing the Burn-Redeem Page?
This is not supported currently. All redeem tokens must be minted via burning the burnable token.
Can I set multiple different burnable tokens for a redemption?
Yes! To select multiple burnable tokens, click the "Add Additional Token" button when selecting burnable tokens. This will require all the tokens selected to be burned in order to mint the Redeem token.
For ERC-721s, eligible burnable tokens are configured via choosing one of three options:
Any tokens on an existing ERC-721 contract
Any tokens within a specified tokenID range on an existing ERC-721 contract
A set of specific tokenIDs on an existing ERC-721 contract
If you want to do an "OR" operation (i.e. burn token A or token B to redeem token C), you will need to change the burnable token during or after the burn. So, for example, you can set a 24 hour period where Token A is burnable for Token C, and then after that, change it to a second 24 hour period where Token B is burnable for Token C.
MetaMask is showing me a warning about approving all my NFTs on the contract as I'm about to burn. Is this safe?
Before burning tokens, you may see a warning like the one below from MetaMask. This is perfectly safe to do! What's happening in this transaction is you are giving the Burn Redeem contract permission to burn your tokens - this is the same type of transaction you would do when listing an NFT on OpenSea for the first time, where you give their contracts permission to transfer your tokens in the event of a sale. As long as you make sure that you are on a Manifold url (app.manifold.xyz), your NFTs are not at risk.
